about

Featuring Todd Pickett on drums and Sara McPherson on bass, this is a special release not available on any album or EP. It was recorded and mixed by Dan Carroll in Rada Studio (West Perth, Australia), produced by Greg and Dan. Written from the perspective of a father whose daughter (geographically removed) is in an abusive relationship, it captures the anguish and helplessness of that circumstance. Greg wants to stress that it is not autobiographical (his daughter is in a wonderful and healthy relationship, thank goodness).

lyrics

Hey Sally, don’t die young
You don’t belong to anyone.
Believe us please
You owe him nothing.
He calls that love - it's just damage.
He calls that love - that's insane.
He calls that love - that's not real love.

Hey Sally, pick up the phone.
Or has he taken it again?
You know your best friend never said what he told you she said
We really need you to know that
He calls that love - it's just damage.
He calls that love - that's insane.
He calls that love - well that's not real love.

Hey Sally, don’t die young
All the silence is just killing us here
I am drowning in mud now
Please don’t forget to run
He calls that love - that's just damage.
He calls that love - that's insane.
He calls that love - but that's not real love.

Hey Sally, don’t die young
